Jensen Mixers Flexible Coupling

Non-lubricated flexible drive coupling — standard on Series 500 and Series 600 mixers. Jensen has transitioned from the Falk Type FT to the Wrapflex model. Conversion kits are available for all existing units.

Important: Falk Coupling Discontinued — Wrapflex Now Standard

Jensen Mixers has discontinued the use of Falk Coupling Hubs and Flexible Elements and is replacing them with the Wrapflex model on all new and replacement orders. See the full transition history below.

Coupling Transition History

The original Jensen Mixer couplings were manufactured by Falk Corporation using the Type FT Non-Lubricated design — a multi-ply nylon and rubber flexible element that became the industry standard for side-entry tank mixer drive trains.

Approximately 10 years ago, Falk discontinued hub drilling for the splined pinion gear. Jensen responded by purchasing blank hubs and having them machined in-house to keep this critical part available for customers.

Approximately 2 years ago, Falk further decided to discontinue the Flexible Element as a standard catalog item. Jensen has since been purchasing large batch quantities as special orders to maintain supply — a situation that has created significant lead time and cost challenges.

Due to the high cost and extended lead times of these special-order Falk Flexible Elements, Jensen Mixers has made the decision to discontinue the Falk Coupling Hubs and Flexible Elements entirely and replace them with the Wrapflex model across all mixer series.

Why Wrapflex?

The Wrapflex coupling offers meaningful advantages over the discontinued Falk design.

  • Complete Wrapflex Hubs & Flexible Element sold as a replacement conversion kit — priced comparably to the Falk Flexible Element alone
  • Flexible Element cost is approximately half the price of the Falk Flexible Element
  • The same Flexible Element is used across all coupling sizes — simplifying spare parts inventory
  • Non-lubricated design — zero maintenance required for the coupling element
  • Handles angular and parallel misalignment, same as the Falk Type FT
  • Removal of driver, gearbox, or flexible element without moving hubs on their shafts
  • Readily available from stock — no special-order lead times

Wrapflex Conversion Kit

The complete Wrapflex Hubs & Flexible Element is available as a replacement conversion kit for existing Jensen Mixers equipped with the Falk Type FT coupling. The kit includes all components needed to convert your existing mixer to the Wrapflex design.

The conversion kit is priced comparably to the Falk Flexible Element alone — making it a cost-effective upgrade that also future-proofs your spare parts supply.
