Jensen Mixer Safety Components
A positive mechanical lockout device for Jensen side entry tank mixers. Designed to support OSHA lockout/tagout compliance and protect personnel during maintenance and inspection operations.
Maintenance on side entry tank mixers presents a serious hazard: the mixer shaft can rotate unexpectedly if the drive is energized while personnel are working on or near the equipment. Electrical interlocks alone are not sufficient — OSHA requires a positive means of energy isolation for rotating equipment.
The Jensen Petro-Block Handle provides that positive mechanical lockout. It physically prevents the mixer from being energized during maintenance, inspection, seal replacement, propeller service, or any other operation that requires personnel to work near the rotating shaft.
The Petro-Block is designed specifically for Jensen side entry mixers and can be retrofitted to existing units in the field without modification to the drive assembly. It works in conjunction with your facility's existing electrical lockout/tagout procedures to provide a complete energy isolation solution.
OSHA's Control of Hazardous Energy standard requires that rotating equipment be positively isolated from all energy sources before maintenance begins. The Petro-Block provides the mechanical means to comply with this requirement on Jensen side entry mixers.
Engineered for the demands of petroleum tank mixer maintenance in industrial environments.
The Petro-Block provides a positive mechanical lockout that physically prevents the mixer from being energized while personnel are working on or near the equipment. Unlike electrical interlocks alone, the Petro-Block creates a physical barrier that cannot be bypassed.
Engineered specifically for Jensen side entry tank mixers, the Petro-Block integrates directly with the mixer drive assembly. It is compatible with the Series 400, 500, 600, 800, and 900 mixer lines.
The Petro-Block installs without modification to the existing mixer drive assembly. It is designed for straightforward field installation and can be retrofitted to existing Jensen mixers already in service.
Helps facilities meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 (Control of Hazardous Energy) requirements for lockout/tagout procedures on rotating equipment. The Petro-Block provides the physical means to isolate mechanical energy at the mixer shaft.
The Petro-Block is a mechanical component in a complete lockout/tagout program. It should be used in conjunction with your facility's written LOTO procedures, electrical isolation, and personal protective equipment requirements. Contact Northeast Controls for guidance on integrating the Petro-Block into your facility's energy control program.
Our team can help you determine the correct Petro-Block configuration for your Jensen mixer and advise on integration with your facility's LOTO program.
